Detroit Youth Choir Set To Release New Album

Their talent with their creative skills, goes further and further into the heavens every year. If you are from the Detroit area, the name is known to you. It all started in 1996, with the idea of offering youth a performing arts experience. The goal is to develop youths’ creativity and talents through music education, dance, and theatrical experience.

We are talking about the one and only Detroit Youth Choir (DYC). The choir hit the national spotlight when the group appeared on the national competition show “America’s Got Talent”, placing second place at the national competition. That appearance has brought the group serval opportunities such as having their documentary series on Disney Plus “Choir”. The document series premiers on January 31, 2024.

Now DYC has announced that they will be releasing their first album, Equations, which is scheduled to be released on October 11, 2024. The album was composed by producer “Buddy” Alexander Brown and Dustin “D-Slater” Slater.

DYC is known for its variety of music, including Motown, gospel, contemporary hits, and original music, the album will have a different sound. Anthony White, the Artist Director and producer of the album says,” This album is a milestone with our choir and first album of its kind for the Detroit Youth Choir. The R&B vibe is what we are going for with, Equations, and we wanted to be original. We definitely succeeded in doing so.”

Currently, DYC has released two tracks have been released from the Equations album, ‘Momma We Made It’ and ‘On My Own’. The album will be available at all Digital Outlets like Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, and Amazon Music.
